Slow and Local 2025: Meetups ONLY

$36.00

If you’ve navigated here, it’s because you’d like to join our Slow and Local 2025 cohort without also purchasing the yarn for your project! If you’d like to purchase a yarn bundle with the community meetups, please link through here.

As part of Slow and Local 2025 (see details here) we will gather three times in Zoom to hear from guest speakers and share stories of our fiber projects.

We have invited guests from within our Fibershed community to discuss regenerative agriculture, grazing for wildfire mitigation, and building community resilience. These guest talks will run about 30-45 minutes with 15 minutes for Q&A. The remainder of the meetup time will be for sharing / show-and-tell with your fiber projects.

  • Launch gathering on Zoom, Tuesday, March 4 at 12 noon with special guest Amy Dufault of the SE New England Fibershed. Amy will talk about waste wool and community resilience.

  • Midpoint gathering on Wednesday, March 26 at 6 pm with special guest Jenya Schneider of Cuyama Lamb. Jenya will talk about wildfire mitigation, resilience, and the broader ecosystem issues within So Cal.

  • Final gathering, Wednesday, April 30 at 6 pm Group discussion and show-and-tell

We’ll record the meetups and post them for you to watch if you miss a session! The Meetup-only option also includes the ability to share your project images for the online exhibit.
