Good Witch Hunting is about what the world and the economy would look like if the divine feminine powers hadn't been devalued during the witch hunts. It is a retelling of this period of history with a focus on women (witches) who were persecuted for textile work, gardening, herb lore, music, friendships and communing with nature. Each chapter focuses on historical examples of how these skills were targeted and tells modern stories about communities who are embracing this knowledge and ancient practices and working against the capitalist system today.
Guests included a dozen designers and consultants working in fashion, textiles, academia, and regenerative systems. The small gathering allowed for warm, collaborative conversation, and community building focused on building a regenerative, hopeful future together. And! Everyone received a pair of Sally Fox made, color-grown cotton socks! More info about Sally’s work can be found here: California CottonFields: Sally Fox Reinvented Cotton by Going Back to its Roots.
The evening was co-created by us and Nicholas Brown, a textile consultant, catalyst for change, and co-founder of LA Sustainability Fashion Hangs, well regarded for his commitment to building a thriving, sustainable, and regenerative fashion industry.
