REGIONAL FIBER SOURCEBOOK
In 2021 we were awarded a micro-grant from Fibershed to create a Regional Fiber Sourcebook. We reached out to local producers and compiled our region’s first working Sourcebook. Just over a dozen producers are profiled, with stories of their ranches and farms, photos, details about their fiber, and woven and knit samples.
We have created two copies of the Sourcebook, which are available to check out for guild and artisan events. The binders are also available for loan to brands who would like to partner with us to specify and source locally made fiber. Please email hello@socalfibershed.org to arrange a loan.
The Sourcebook is a living, changing document. We’ll add new producers as more come forward, and also switch out fiber swatches as flocks change. Please reach out if you would like to be included!
We also welcome the participation of textile artists, designers, processing mills, suppliers, and retail businesses.
Hearty thank you’s to Michelle Gannes, Kait Hilliard, Barbara Madley, and Deb Thompson, without whom this book would not be possible.
