Please join us for our September monthly Fiber Chats, an ongoing member meet-up in which we discuss the status of the So Cal chapter, creating an online community group for sharing resources and enabling direct member-to-member dialogue, what’s happening with policy efforts on a state and federal level, creating “working” groups, and what is happening in the broader regenerative ecosphere.
The topic for September is POLICY. We can talk about the Farm Bill, the Fabric Act, CA’s EPR (textile recycling bill), two new bills just introduced: The Fighting Fibers Act of 2024, introduced by Oregon's U.S. Senator Merkley, focused on reducing microplastic pollution, and The Voluntary Sustainable Apparel Labeling Act, proposed by U.S. Congresswoman Salazar (FL) and Congressman Casten (IL), plus whatever else you all would like to bring to the table!
Topics for ongoing meetups may include: mill capacity and the state of CA’s mill resources, pelletizers and composting, mending and repair, natural dyeing, books, state and federal policy action, alternative economic models, workshops, and more.
