Blackberry Creek is a small family farm in Topanga Canyon, with two Pygora goats and two Baby Doll Southdown sheep. Once the animals have been sheared and their fleece skirted the owners either process it themselves or send it out to process at a fiber mill.  The processing on site is for personal use only, and the sellable product is sent to three different mills, two in California and one in Arizona.  Blackberry Creek is completely owner managed and the animals are their pets.

The sheep have extremely elastic springy (dense and curly!) wool and the staple length is very dense about 4 inches. One is cream color and the other is dense brown. The staple length on the Pygoras is graded type B, one is more type B which is characteristic of mohair and the other one is more type C which is more like cashmere. The goat fiber is fine and long, and tends to tangle.
